It was for a live Radio show ("C'est Lenoir Blacksessions" in Paris France) broadcasted live on "France-Inter" (national radio) and on the radio's website (this recording comes from that media) Andrew Bird was alone on stage in front of a audiance who knew very little about him... he had everything to proove... ...he emediatly electrified the crowd... the application in the performance and the concentration of the audiance is tangible, Andrew Bird's performance is just outstanding... the improvised musical arrangements synthesizes the musical genious the artist is capable of ! His performing of "Masterfade" equals (if not surpasses) the album/studio version and sets a promissing futur for the years of music to come ! Amazing sound and an overall great performance. When Bird plays solo it is a totally different (in my mind superior) experience than with his band. Each song is so much more patient with thick textures that build to produce such a big sound.
